Who is to be blamed?

It is neither the first nor the last time we have proved to be a country of imbeciles.

Students jumped off the first floor of a coaching centre in Mukherjee Nagar, mocking civic authorities, fire rules and norms. What happened? Nothing. Thirty-odd students were burnt in another accident in Surat. What happened? Nothing. A few days back, in Delhi, a student was electrocuted. What happened? Nothing. Now, three students drowned inside a basement that was technically a library for one of India’s largest IAS coaching centres, RAU.

And do you know it is not the unfortunate death of 3 young students that shocks me?

Mocking the law and kneeling before the mighty owners of these coaches, Delhi Police arrested a man for negotiating his car through a flooded street that made water enter the basement. Yes, you heard it right. What was he supposed to do? Stand there, cursing the AAP government?

But I Don’t blame Kejriwal, who is shameless beyond words, or any of his ministers, who can't even get a drain de-stilted and talk of some obscure change. I blame both the parents and teachers like Divya Kieti and Vadh Ojha.

Parents for trying to live their dreams by making their sons and daughters IAS. Can't they see the pathetic conditions these coaching centres offer when they come to enrol them? Most are run out of depilated buildings and basements, a hazard from the start. After paying hefty fees, what do they get? A body wrapped in a white sheet?

Secondly, these teachers have used social media and media to position themselves as celebrities. Have you ever watched the videos of Divya Kirti and Avadh Ojha? The former has a view on everything and everyone, and that pushed-philosophical smirk on his face mocks the intellect of thousands of parents. The other, with a ‘gamcha’, looks like a rickshaw puller and boasts of his street fights, electoral ambitions, rowdy lifestyle, and how he went absconding, etc. Do we need such teachers?

The authorities have sealed Divya Kirti’s institute, Drishti, too. But I know he will have them open with his connections in no time. Most of his classes are in a building that could crumble at the next opportunity or in death-infested basements. Both these charlatans, who could never be an IAS themselves, claim to be the Messiah for every IAS aspirant. These men of dubious cred spend a fortune on getting their media presence sorted, influencing the minds of aspirants and parents alike—less of teachers and more of PR operators. Imagine social media being flooded by their reels. Who is posting it? Of course, the PR agency.

Where are these newfound celebs hiding?

Why they dont have anything to say about the tragic death of three students?

Why can't they explain why they had no view on this gross negligence that went on for years?

Can they explain why they were a part of this gross violation?

Surely not.

As far as the AAP government is concerned, they are not even worth discussing. With the CM behind bars, his cabinet out there, busy narrating the stats of his falling weight and sugar level, are a disgrace to our democracy.
